Ceramic insulation coating is being used by shipyards, oil and gas companies, food processors and construction companies around the world.
Ceramic-based insulation coating is approved as a substitute for traditional insulation by oil refiners BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Shell, Tesoro and Valero, among others. This type of coating was originally accepted as a alternative solution for personnel protection and was gradually recognized as a tool for preventing corrosion under insulation (CUI) on tanks, heat exchangers, process towers, steam lines, product lines and other equipment. Acceptance for CUI prevention programs has been based on heat retention performance, allowing visual inspection of surfaces and reduction of inspection intervals and lower installation costs that average about 30% less than conventional materials.
Leading workboat fleet operators such as Edison Chouest, Otto Candy and Bourbon are using the insulation coatings extensively on their vessels in areas ranging from the Arctic/Antarctic to the Persian Gulf.
